Why painting Lorne homes is different

Lorne is beautiful and brutal on paintwork. Sea air, salt spray, hot summers, wet winters and the constant tug of UV mean exteriors fail faster here than they do inland. Hardwood weatherboards and timber decks need preparation that suits the climate, not just any-old-paint-on-any-old-surface.

Most of the homes I paint in Lorne are either:

• Family beach houses — used a few months a year, weathered hard between visits, and overdue for a proper repaint that lasts longer than the last one.
• Holiday rentals — need to look immaculate every changeover, with finishes that survive heavy foot traffic and salt-air exposure.
• Permanent homes — owners who live here year-round and want the interior done well, the exterior protected, and a tradie who actually picks up the phone.

Each one needs a different approach to prep, primer, and product. That's the part of painting that takes time and gets skipped by cheaper crews.

What I do in Lorne

• Bathroom and kitchen renovations — if a repaint reveals bigger problems, I can handle the whole job (tiling, carpentry, plastering) instead of handing you off to three more tradies.
